Ever thought of building your very own Dalek? I saw the plans in the internet. It would make an interesting entry into holiday parades!

I thought about building a very elaborate Dalek, motorized, with lights and voice, remote controlled. Sitting it in a dark corner on the second floor and scaring the bajesus out of ghost hunters LOL

No time though :(

It might be worth the effort if there are parades that offer cash prizes to winning entries. I have a full sized R2-D2 in our basement.

Good question for you to answer:
WHY is there no continuity with the color/rank of the Daleks? It seems like in one episode they're all the same color and in another they are different colors with very obvious ranks.

There is a continuity, however it is almost impossible to follow as the Daleks themselves are time travelers. The Daleks you see in a Tom Baker episode from 1975 are from say the year 22566 and the ones you see in an earlier episode, say from the Troughton era, may be from the year 100,222. Usually a black Dalek is a "Commander." Through time their rank structure changes though, so some black Daleks are just soldiers in other episodes and gold ones are commanders.

In the 1980s McCoy episode there were "Imperial" Daleks which were white and "Rebel" Daleks which were gray, another type of colour distinction.

By the new series all Daleks are gold and the Commander, Sek, is black.

Cheers :D
