I've gotten some of my best evp's at Prospect Place. Aside from one private investigation I went on, they have the chattiest ghosts I've ever been around.

This first one was from when I was there over a year ago. You might need to turn the volume up a little on it, between me being mumbly and the voice being a whisper. It was taken at 5:00 am in Mary's room.

The next one was my first attempt of the evening when I was at Prospect Place in January. I was trying an experiment to see if playing period music would increase the ghostly activity any. Apparently, it worked! I asked if the ghosts were enjoying the music and got this response. This was in the family parlor at around 5:30 in the evening.

This one was taken while we were table tipping at 3 in the morning in the attic. The voice is so clear that it took me a minute to realize that it wasn't the voice of one of the 2 other women there, who are also on the recording.

The thing I find interesting is that the newer ones are much clearer than the first one. I have to wonder if the ghosts are getting better at communicating through this method. Has anyone else noticed that?

The period music is something I think I will try when I am out there this summer. I plan on attending in June with TOP-ORG and doing some EVP recording using multi channel audio equipment. I was there last year during the day just to scope things out planning on returning later but never made it back. I am open to suggestions on where the best places to set up are located, power is no problem as I have a power module and supply my own for recorders, mixers, equalizers, and video.

George now has power available everywhere, even the barn.

I have some music to play out there. Some of it is "vintage" Civil War era songs. I also have a few Bluegrass CDs that might get the ghosts attention.

I think the music is more likely to attract ghosts than just talking. Which would get your attention faster... hearing voices or music?

Oh, definitely give it a try. I've had wonderful success with it. From what I've seen, it piques the ghosts' interest, lets them know that you are there on a friendly basis, gives them extra energy to play off of, and they just plain like it.

So far, I've had the best luck with evps in the upstairs parlor, Mary's room, and the attic. Timing also seemed to be a factor. Aside from during a table tipping session, I was only able to get evps early in the evening before the rest of the group showed up, and around dawn after everyone else had gone to sleep. Basically, they were chattiest when I was the only one around. It would be problematic to try for evps when there are a lot of people around, anyway, as sound carries like crazy there.

Good luck!
