I know this was sorta posted before as another subject, but I was thinking of something. I'm not sure who here watches Ghost Hunters, but I was watching the show the other day and they had a camera on there that I was thinking about getting. It's a motion camera takes pictures when it is triggered to do so by movement. It's primary use is for hunting. Now, I've wanted one of these for a few years, just never really went ahead and made the purchase. You can get one for a few hundred on walmarts website even. Ok, so here were some things being thrown around in my head. It's triggered by movement from some sort of solid mass, (I'm sure there is something for the sensitivity for it incase a bug or leaf would blow by. ) SO, if that is the case would it necessarily take a picture if a spirt/ghost/energy would cross it. I'm sure we've all seen pictues with a clowded figure or shadow in it. Now, those pictures are taken by a click of the finger. But, after thinking i'm not so sure a sprit/ghost/energy would have enough solid mass to trigger it. Am I looking at this all wrong? I'd love others opinions.

I'd watched some hunting shows and have seen those cameras used....I just thought movement had to have some bulk to it to trigger the camera to click the shutter...... ? I'm not thinking spiritual activity would be able to trigger it.... Have you done any studying up on it to see exactly how it might work for ghosthunting? :?:

Good, someone else seen it. I was worried no one else would see this post. :) I have not went into any in depth studying it as of yet. Like you it dawned on me hey wait I don't think a spirit (whatever you want to call it) could set it off. When I have a little more time, I am going to look into it more. But again like I said before. I haven't seen anything that hasn't been more clouded then solid. So, IF it were to go off I would think it would do the same for fog.

Another thought, have you ever thought of using baby monitors? I'm in the middle of testing this theory out. Bad thing about this though, is the fact that they seem to be so sensitive and pick up EVERYTHING. Thought of this was possibly a "real time" EVP. However now thinking off the top of my head. If the theory that the spirits speak on different megahertz ( I believe that is the correct term) Then, we wouldn't really hear it anyway. So, I guess I've acutally been waisting my time on that one now hmmm.....

I don't think the baby moniter is a bad idea. You can hear spirits with the naked ear too. Why, the other day I had bought new furniture and was waiting it's arrival. I was the only one home at the time. I noticed my boys had left dvd's on the floor, so I went over to the big screen to pick them up and see what was on top of the tv. Just as I was, someone in a soft voice from behind me said"Denise". I whipped around with my eyes bulging out of my head  I've heard my name called so many times before, so I'm thinking...if they want to be heard, tape or baby moniter, they'll be heard.

I think if they want to be heard, they will be. Like the time I was staying at Prospect in the boy's room and I heard foot steps pacing back and forth really loud, like someone had boots on, outside the door in the hallway. I have to admit, that scared me. My roommate for the evening was passed out cold, so there I am hearing this, not believing I'm hearing it. I felt like it wanted in, but couldn't come in. Boy, I held my pee for a long time that night  But seriously, that's something people pick up on evps also, so why did I hear it?......Like I said, I think it's because they wanted me to. But that's only a theory, who knows.

EXACTLY! The spirits WANTED you to hear them..that's the great thing about Prospect Place! There are many interacting "ghosts" there who WANT you to react to them. Our aim is to get proof somehow that we're hearing these things and seeing them! You can't prove something touched you unless there are welts or scratches and the spirits there aren't mean. The ideas of using anything NEW and different to help catch something is great! One of these days we'll get something tangible and Prospect Place will be put on the map in BIG RED LETTERS!!!!!

Funny you should mention the footsteps. Last time we were there all but one of our members were in the basement. The other was in the kitchen watching our IR camera on the screen we had set up. He opens the door and comes down saying uh.....do one of you guys want to come up here and experience this with me....he said there are footsteps walking in and out down here. Once the next person went up nothing.....maybe they were already gone. Who knows... :?

It does get aggrivating when you can't get the tangible all the time! I do have one theory as to activity, PLEASE let me know if you think this makes sense at all. I could sound completely crazy! We've been there a number of times. We always treat the home with respect (obviously) and we think George is a great guy! Now, from the first time we have went there our "main members" have always been there. Each time we bring a new member that wasn't able to attend the last time. It usually seems that the 2nd night is always more active, unless we have the newbie seperate from the others. Now, do you think it is at all possible that "they" become used to you? Sometimes I think I'm crazy but I can't help it, it really does appear that way. It's hard to explain it any other way.

My God...you do sound totally crazy  Just kidding. No I am so with you on this one. I used to go to Prospect alot a few years ago. I mean alot. And everytime I went I saw more and more. So when you say "get used to you" I have experienced more activity the more I go. More of the ability to see things and hear things I didn't in the beginning. Just like the last time I went, which was the first since all those visits so many years ago, there wasn't as much activity as I had wished for since I had seen and heard so much previously. But I think the more you go, the more they expose themselves to you, and then you don't know what kind of crazy stuff you're going to experience. That's why I love that place. It's like a rollercoaster. You don't know when the next hill is coming until it drops you....same thrill.

Regarding cameras and triggering I would recommend using any camera with a remote shutter release. Preferably an electronic switch type. With such a release you can make the camera sensitive to anything. Most of the monitoring equipment I have has provisions for a dry set of contacts which activate when whatever is being monitored for happens. That could be audio, motion, EM Fields, light, proximity detectors, anything. This makes it very versitile and can be used for multiple cases. All you need to do is use the contacts to trip the shutter. Whatever device is attached to it is what it will take the picture on activation.
