$40 bucks for two hours. Don't these people know we're in a recession?! Lol, Geesh, it's hard to pay the price for milk and eggs, let alone forty bucks for two hours of roaming halls looking for ghosts. And only two hours? Wow.....I'm super glad that George has got Prospect booked up on the weekends. I can't even think of how much gas I'd have to use to get to Prospect and back the next time I go. Won't be for a while I suppose.
Sorry, this economy has really gotten me down! The almighty dollar isn't as it used to be.

I was going to look into it too. $40 wow that is ridiculous!!! What on earth could 2 hours do?! Holy cow! Hopefully they'll come down. I wouldn't mind checking the place out.

It looked like they've only done historical tours...so I figured that with the TAPS guys being there, they thought they better offer something for the "haunted" aspect...they could make a couple extra bucks. It's just an awful long way for us to travel to do a 2 hour "tour" and then come home....... But, it is there if the gas prices ever DO come back down..! _________________ Assistant Lead Investigator

I just got back from a short trip to Chicago yesterday. Gas was as high as $4.16 for regular and sales tax is 9.25% in Cook County (Chicago). Our taxes and gas prices are dirt cheap compared to that. Not to mention parking is $42/day in downtown Chicago.
I think $40 for these two hour tours is probably twice as much as they should be charging. They'll figure out if there is a sustainable market quickly at $40/2 hour tour. I'm not sure there is. _________________ myspace.com/is300lex

Oh, I know I've seen on the news what some of these prices can be? I fear ours will go up more. Regardless, it's not easy on the pocket. Glad I don't have to make the 84 mile a day commute for work.
Hopefully they will see that the 40 is too much for 2 hours. But, TAPS was there so you have people that have to go just because they were there and will pay it. Look at what they charge for some of these places! For Miflin and one at Rolling Hills they were having were in the mid 300's and while it would be great to see these places just can't swing that especially when you would have to double that for hubby and I. That price doesn't include transportation or hotel either. I'm not sure how they divide the money but I'm sure it goes to cover the expenses of some of the speakers. But, still doesn't make the cost to us any easier.

They apparently have a market with those prices at those locations. I think initially, people will pay $40 at this asylum for 2 hours but I'd expect that to drop off over time, unless there is a significant amount of activity occurring all the time.
They were well prepared for the nationwide TV exposure. They're website is up-to-date and impressive. The woman they worked with on Ghost Hunters was positive and excited about the place. One thing, as a businessman, I'll give them credit for is taking advantage of an opportunity. It takes a lot for some people to really seize and opportunity like this by charging what some would consider a ridiculous amount of money because they feel like they're ripping people off. When demand is high you really should charge higher prices. That's part of the reason we pay so much for gas (that and 40 other factors).
I think, from a repeat visitor perspective, it's better to charge $40 for 2 hours and end up with fewer visitors than trying to wholesale the place at a flat fee all night then have to jam in 100 or more people (like they do at the WV Pen in Moundsville) creating a less than desirable atmosphere. _________________ myspace.com/is300lex
